CSPro (Census and Survey Processing System

CSPro is a public domain software package used by hundreds of organizations and tens of thousands of individuals for entering, editing, tabulating, and disseminating census and survey data. CSPro is designed to be as user-friendly as possible, yet powerful enough to handle the most complex applications. It can be used by a wide range of people, from non-technical staff assistants to senior demographers and programmers. See the censuses page.

DevInfo

DevInfo is a database system managed by UNICEF that is used to compile and disseminate data on human development.

ENACTS (Enhancing National Climate Services)

ENACTS assists users to: Understand natural variability in temperature and precipitation over national, regional and district scales and assess the impacts on development outcomes; understand climate sensitivity to map populations and systems at risk of climate variability and change; improve the timing and scale of climate-sensitive interventions and design early-warning systems. Epi Info™

Epi Info™ is a public domain suite of interoperable software tools designed for the global community of public health practitioners and researchers. It provides for easy data entry form and database construction, a customized data entry experience, and data analyses with epidemiologic statistics, maps, and graphs for public health professionals who may lack an information technology background. Epi Info™ is used for outbreak investigations; for developing small to mid-sized disease surveillance systems; as analysis, visualization, and reporting (AVR) components of larger systems; and in the continuing education in the science of epidemiology and public health analytic methods at schools of public health around the world. GNU PSPP

GNU PSPP is a free, open-source alternative to the proprietary statistics package SPSS. PSPP is used to analyse sample data. It has both a graphical user interface and a conventional command line interface.

International Household Survey Network (IHSN)

The International Household Survey network (IHSN) provides free and open-source software supports the documentation, cataloguing, dissemination, and de-identification of microdata. See the household surveys page.

The Open Data Kit community produces free and open-source software for collecting, managing, and using data in resource-constrained environments. See the open data page.

PAS (Census Population Analysis System)

PAS is a set of Microsoft Excel workbooks developed by the U.S. Census Bureau containing frequently used procedures and methods in basic demographic analysis. The purpose of the workbooks is to facilitate analysis of available data for the following topics: age structure, mortality, fertility, migration, distribution of population, urbanization, and population projections. The workbooks are distributed with two manuals describing the demographic methods they implement and the procedures they perform. See the censuses page.

REDATAM (REtrieval of DATa for small Areas by Microcomputer)

Redatam is a friendly and interactive computer system that facilitates the processing, analysis and web dissemination of information from population censuses, surveys, administrative records, national/regional indicators and any other sources. See the censuses page.
